ARSON FIRE SENDS BELOVED FORMER HOSPITAL DIRECTOR TO THE ICU THAT BEARS HER NAME
Frasier MacLeod, Cub Reporter
A Massive arson fire gutted the White Widow store late Wednesday night, sending it's owner, Charli Chamberlain, M.D., former Director of Medicine of Pillbox Hospital and the woman responsible for it's modern incarnation, to the hospital with 3rd degree burns over most of her body. Ironically, she is being treated in the ICU wing that bears her name: C Ward stands for Chamberlain!
Despite the best efforts of Dr. Wilem MacLeod, who happened to be off duty at the time overseeing necessary hospital renovations, beloved resident Charli Chamberlain slipped into a coma. Eyewitnesses report that Dr. MacLeod worked on her for hours while still taking care of an influx of other patients. She is currently in the hospital's ICU under armed guard following an attempt by an unidentified family member to take her life on compassionate grounds.
Unconfirmed reports state that the person might possibly have been a former or current romantic interest who was so overcome with grief that he tried to snuff out the small flame of life that still faintly burns within her by smothering her with her own pillow. According to anonymous sources, Dr. MacLeod walked into the room after hearing some sort of noise and discovered the attacker poised over her bed with a pillow over her face and called 911. The brave doctor fought with the attacker and was able to remove him from the room moments before the entire on-duty law enforcement contingent rushed into the ICU led by the brave and dashing Sheriff Loki Windrunner who personally placed the emotionally distraught attacker under arrest. The identity of the attacker has not yet been released by the LSPD or BCSO. Witnesses described him as "dirty and a bit shifty".
All of us here wish her the best for a safe and speedy recovery. Anyone wishing to visit Dr. Chamberlain will be subjected to a search and will not be permitted to visit with her alone due the earlier attempt on her life. We will update you on her condition when circumstances change.
The White Widow will need massive repairs and reconstruction and is expected to be closed for some time.
